XIBIT ‘BLACK'
BLACK is not a colour; it is the absence of colour. Black absorbs all colours. It is an element of colour that approaches the dark holes of the universe in terms of the space it exists. It tends to visually go back in space. Black isolates colours just as white does however it can give visual punch to colours next to it by the contrast. Expressively it is bold and usually has the emotive quality of shine, depression, power, death or evil. Personally, I love its place in a colourful painting, setting up the adjoining colours and claiming a space of its own that is immobile, powerful and elegant. THE CHINESE/JAPANESE lacquer artists were masters in using black. Gold made a good companion to black in their work.
This is ' XIBIT' is a 'gallery' of artworks that will change. The artworks will be selected from the artist's available work as well as some sold pieces.
