This is an amazing web site that shows mostly living Canadian artists of every medium as well as some highlighted great Canadian artists and collectors. You could spend a day going through the wealth of images and information here. Not just images and artists histories but also inspiring videos of artists such as the one by Linda Corbett of that sweet man, David Bolduc who passed away this year.
You can also do research on living artists and see their work done over a life time.

Saatchi gallery is a great supporter of painting and painters. It is based in London England and has created a lot of excitement over the years engaging a whole new generation of young art collectors.
The web site itself has a wealth of knowledge about international art exhibitions and galleries as well as a vast number of artist's works. There are opportunities for critiques or competitions. Public galleries or institutions and members of the public can contact artists on this site. It gives an artist an international platform.
In the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Alberta you can see fantastic fossils of dinosaurs and large animals that used to roam in Canada. More than 350 species of extinct dinosaurs were found in that area alone. You can visit the digs to see for yourself. http://www.tyrrellmuseum.com/exhibits

The Burgess Shale located 2300 metres above sea level in the Canadian Rockies at Yoho National Park in British Columbia are fossils of the earliest mobile creatures that evolved in what would have been a Cambrian sea. My new hybrids sprung from my exploration of fossils in that they are reminders of past creatures that had evolved long before and made me wonder what may evolve in the future in a world of diminished species. Check out the Burgess Shale. http://www.burgess-shale.bc.ca/discover-burgess-shale/summary-research
